THE GERMANY

ELECTRONIC INVOICING OBLIGATION

The nationwide e-invoicing requirement came into force on 1 January 2025. Since then, the acceptance of e-invoices that comply with the EN 16931 standard has been mandatory for all German B2B transactions. The previous preference for paper invoices is being phased out.
